Students in Johannesburg form a "dot" in a community garden to "connect the dots" between local solutions—like local agriculture—and the broader changes needed to solve the climate crisis.

Four Friends of Symmonds Stream walked along a tribituary of the uMngeni River, impacted by invasive alien plants, which flows over the Forgotten Falls, Howick. Plans are for a regular work party to clear a path and organise a monthly walk to raise awareness of the need to restore the wetland and stream ecosystem to its former glory - enabling sunlight to shine once more on the arum lilies and other indigenous plants.

At the end of Climate Impacts Day [05/05/12], activists stand behind candles
spelling out the 350 message : "Things have got to change around here."
