Green Star SA – Multi Unit Residential v1: Rating Tool Information Sessions

Learn how to green your next multi unit residential development using the latest rating tool from the GBCSA , Green Star SA – Multi Unit Residential v1! What is the information session about?
The information session is focussed on the new Green Star SA – Multi Unit Residential v1 rating tool which was launched at the 2011 GBCSA Convention & Exhibition. This is the first green building rating tool aimed at the South African residential market and is a tool for the objective measurement of the environmental performance of the design and construction phases of new and major refurbishments of multi unit residential buildings.

The information session provides a comprehensive overview of the rating tool, insight into all major aspects of the rating tool from the fundamentals of the Green Star SA rating system, the types of developments the rating tool can be used for, how the rating tool connects with the new SANS 10400-XA energy efficiency requirements, the categories and credits within the tool, and an overview of the certification process.

This half day event will be taking place in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria.

This session is not intended as a comprehensive review of the Green Star SA rating system or the GBCSA, those parties seeking such information should attend the Green Star SA Accredited Professionals course. The next course takes place in Durban on 29 February.

What is the course format?
The information session format is that of a fluid interaction between lecture and Q&A, consisting of two one-and-a-half hour components. A case study will be presented on the first building to achieve Green Star SA – Multi Unit Residential PILOT certification. Course notes, information material and refreshments will be provided.
