The Manda Wilderness Agricultural Project is seeking a trainer in permaculture to assist the farm. This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated person to use their expertise in agriculture and their creativity to make vast changes and improvements to the farm. This person must be passionate about training local employees in modern permaculture techniques. This person will aim to support a commercially sustainable agricultural demonstration farm that supplies fresh vegetables to Nkwichi Lodge and provides agricultural training to surrounding community members.

Responsibilities

* Use agricultural expertise to make improvements to the farm in terms of vegetable production with the end goal of running a self-sustainable farm.
* Carry out training courses at the farm teaching new agricultural techniques.
* Support farm employees including schedules, work plans, and agricultural training
* Assist staff members in diversifying arts and crafts produced at the farm
* Support endeavours to fundraise for agricultural training through guests at Nkwichi lodge, donor organizations, newsletters, and website updates

Skills and experience needed

* Completed training from an accredited permaculture training course
* Experience running a small scale organic agricultural farm
* Language skills, particularly Chinyanja, Chichewa, or Portuguese are preferable

Terms & Conditions

This is a voluntary position for someone who will at least stay 6 months, preferably 1 year or longer. MWAP will cover all living expenses (food and accommodation). This a perfect opportunity for a recent graduate to get experience after their studies.
